Thomas' occupation was gasfitter

24.  Findmypast Census Records.  In 1861 James Le Petit, carpenter joiner, is living with his family at 7 Rodney Place, St Marys Islington, Finsbury. The transcript has his age as 24 but the original shows 34.  However his wife Emily is recorded as 23 on the original and their daughter Katherine is recorded as 10 suggesting maybe an earlier marriage.  On findmypast marriage records there is a marriage in the June quarter 1849 (volume 2 page 289).  James is not on the 1851 census, presumably in East India where his first two children were born.  In 1871 James & Emily, with the surname transcribed as "Petis" are with 3 children, Katherine is not present, maybe married by that time.  They are not found on the 1881 census.  There is a passenger record as Assisted Migrants  to Australia on the "Clyde" arriving about 3 April 1879 in Sydney.  As their son and daughter settled in Australia maybe James and Emily remained in Australia too

26.  On the unassisted passenger lists to Australia are James H & Emily Le Petit on board the "Clyde" arriving 3 April 1879.   Presumably with their two children living in Australia James & Emily also remained there.  Possible death registration as James H 'Lepettit' (8769/1890)

49.  Findmypast Census.  In 1881 Thomas Hickley appears to be living with his uncle Henry and family at 10 Wesley Street, Monks Coppenhall, Nantwich, Cheshire.  In 1891 he is married to Ada and in 1901 they have children Henry Ada and Albert.  In 1911 they are still in St Pancras London at Clavendon Square N W with Ada & Albert

Arthur's occupation is "Ostrich feather dyer". In 1911 widowed Isabel,  still a "feather dresser" is still living at 71 Wright Street, Hull, Yorkshire, with her son Arthur,  25 "feather maker" and daughter Mabel Lina, 23 "feather dresser"

Alma, age 21, the daughter of Thomas Bevan, a builder.  Charles Horatio's place of residence was 11 Grafton Road and Alma's 31 St Thomas Road.  The witnesses were George Lye and Emily 'Larkins'   (Marriage registration volume 1b page 401)
